Taylor Swift's director defends 'Look What You Made Me Do' against Beyonce 'Formation' comparisons
Ever since images from Taylor Swift's forthcoming music video for "Look What You Made Me Do" were released Friday, Beyonc�'s fans have been crying foul.
The pop star released her dark new song, which sings of a woman getting back at an old friend or lover, Thursday night. She then followed that up by teasing photos from the Joseph Kahn-directed video on Friday's "Good Morning America."
The Beyhive, as they're lovingly known, took issue with one particular teaser image, showing Swift, 27, wearing all black, backed by fierce-looking background dancers.
They felt the shot, inside a Victorian-style home, was similar to Beyonc�'s "Formation" video, in which she at one point also wears all black in a plantation-style home.

Kahn, the director of "Look What You Made Me Do," defended the video on Twitter Friday night amid mounting backlash.
"I've worked with Beyonc� a few times," he wrote. "She's an amazing person. The #LWYMMDvideo is not in her art space. Love and respect to Bey."
Kahn, 44, added: "Also there's something to that 'formation' shot I painted out and you haven't seen yet. Stay tuned Sunday :)#LWYMMDvideo #SneakyAsian."
The director is referring to the fact that "Look What You Made Me Do" is set to premiere at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards. Swift's album won't be released until Nov. 10.
The South Korean director, who's also worked with Eminem, Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga, ended his series of tweets by making light of the comparisons.
"Before video release: Kahn copying Lemonade," he wrote. "After video release: Kahn copying obscure K Pop video made in North Korean prison in 2006."
